Our 2022 Candy Striper Plan

We are excited to offer two summer programs for 2022.

Students must be willing to complete the entire two week session.
Session I: June 13- June 24
Session Two: July eleven- July 22

-Application menses has airtight for the 2022 sessions.
-Interviews will be conducted May 9- May 12, 2022.
-Orientation will exist June 7, 2022.

Our goal is to provide positive, energetic students (ages 14 to eighteen) who are mayhap interested in health care or other existent earth experience with an environment and an opportunity to larn, assistance others, build friendships, and give back. The plan besides provides aid to departments that could apply actress sets of easily. The Candy Striper Volunteers too help to make the infirmary a petty happier and friendlier. Application Requirements

Credence into the program is contingent upon the completion of the following steps:

Must exist at to the lowest degree xiv years one-time by the date of orientation.
Completed online application
Interview
Health screening by MUSC Employee Health Service
Immunization records (2 MMR, ii Varicella, Tdap, Hep B and COVID with booster) need to exist provided at screening for successful clearance.
One letter of recommendation (teacher, guidance advisor, employer, leader of an organization the student is involved in, etc.) brought in during interview.

During the program, volunteers will come in Monday through Fri (eight a.k. to 4 p.k.) for three weeks and work with specific departments throughout the hospital. Participants will be allowed ii excused absences per session. Uniforms, hospital ID's, $five per day for lunch, and parking will be provided.
